Zhang Jieyu was born in 1948, and now is Dean of Populus Euphratica Art Institute, research fellow of the Central Museum of History and Literature, a member of Chinese Artists Association, member of China International Painting and Calligraphy Research Association, adjunct professor of Peking University, official student of Lingnan Master Li Xiongcai, the creator of the painting, Psalm of Populus Euphratica displayed at the Golden Hall, Great Hall of the People. Zhang is good at ink landscape painting, and has a deep sense of social responsibility and universal love. His solo exhibitions he been held in China and many other countries such as the U.S., UK, France, Russia, Australia, Japan and South Korea. The albums of his paintings he also been published by several publishing houses.

擅长水墨山水画,画风雄阔幽远、壮丽凝重,在山水画领域独树一帜,是一位具有深厚社会责任感和博爱情怀的画家.他把山水画当作历史、史诗来画,作品多为表现时代主旋律、弘扬中华民族不屈不饶、奋斗不息精神的题材.只知潜心作画,默默地为国家主要部门：中南海、纪念堂、人民大会堂、军委、总部、西北民航、海关等创作多幅巨作被悬挂*.
先后在北京中国美术馆、革命军事博物馆、广州、西安、兰州、烟台、天津、哈尔滨以及美国、英国、法国、俄罗斯、澳大利亚、日本、韩国等地举办个展和参选联展.
出版有《张介宇中国画集》（陕西人民出版社）、《当代中国画名家张介宇精选》（天津人民美术出版社）、《胡杨礼赞》（人民美术出版社）、《张介宇画选》（人民美术出版社）等.
